By travelling 5 million, 100 million, or up to 200 million years into the future, "The Future Is Wild" will attempt to provide some answers as to how our earth will be. Using the best scientific brains, the very latest in animation technology and top television talent, this series will create images of both our future world and its inhabitants.

With all the world's animals, including human beings, having gone extinct, new life forms will have been born and evolved in their place. Created within the wake of human intervention, these new creatures will each jostle for supremacy and will be shaped, as ever, by the forces of nature. Through the co-operation of numerous world-renowned geologists, climatologists, zoologists, and botanists, as well as an Emmy Award winning graphics team, this programme will use scientific principles to show what these new worlds and their inhabitants could possibly look like. Jurassic Park-style animation will transform these environments and animals from the imagination of scientists into television reality.
