In July 2008, palaeontologists unearthed the nearly complete fossilised remains of a 35 foot, 240 million year old Ichthyosaur in Nevada’s Augusta mountains. Scientists instantly knew this animal would have been the top predator of the oceans in its time. However, Ichthyosaurs did not always live in the water. They were the first reptiles to leave land and evolve into fully aquatic creatures. “Ancient Sea Monsters” reveals the transformation process of the oceans’ once most ferocious predator.
