Natural catastrophes have not only accompanied life on earth from the very beginning, but also decisively affected its development. The five-part series “Catastrophe” takes the viewer on a journey into time from the birth of our home planet 4.5 billion years ago, to the present day. The series vividly and meticulously portrays how ice ages, super volcanoes and cosmic bombardments affected the evolution of flora and fauna – and explains why life kept triumphing in spite of all adversity.
