ENGINEERING ANCIENT EGYPT takes us into the hearts and minds of these early Egyptians as they stop at nothing to achieve their great feats of engineering. With limited tools and resources we’ll witness how passion and stamina enables engineers and workers to pull off such audacious projects.

But there is one force at play over which the Egyptians have no control, nature; in the form of the river Nile. The Nile is their lifeblood. When Khufu comes to power the empire is flourishing, the Nile floods every year creating fertile plains and surplus crops. The Egyptians believe this is because the gods are happy.

The challenge of building the Giza pyramid during this era is still daunting. It’s the tallest structure ever attempted and no-one knows if it can be achieved. Yet the nation embraces it without question. Their dedication to their deity ruling above everything.
