"Pirate Gold" reconstructs the life of the legendary pirate captain Samuel “Black Sam” Bellamy, who amassed a gigantic fortune within only one year on his voyages of pillaging and plundering. In 1717 Bellamy and most of his crew died when their ship sank in a hurricane. In 1984 the archaeologist Barry Clifford succeeded in locating the wreck just off Cape Cod, Massachusetts – a sensational find which still offers many startling insights into the lives of the buccaneers 300 years ago.
