In the shadow of one of the nation’s greatest events is America’s first known serial killer. While the world was distracted with Chicago’s World's Fair, H.H. Holmes built a house with trap doors and gas chambers just a few miles from the fair grounds. Millions from around the world came to see the glorious White City that was designed by some of the nation's most famous architects.

What they didn’t expect to find was a serial killer who may have murdered dozens of people during this time. Madness in The White City explores the construction of the White City and the man who also left his mark on history - H.H. Holmes.
