On the surface, the Colombian island of Malpelo looks like an innocuous rock. But dive into the underwater world around it, and you will discover an impressive variety of species. Among them are hammerhead sharks, which are an endangered species. Since 2006 the region around Malpelo has been part of UNESCO’s world nature legacy. Today, however, this paradise is threatened by illegal fishing. The documentary shows how nature protectors fight to maintain this unique habitat.
