First, a fourteen-year-old girl falls to her death from a cliff a few days before midsummer; then a photographer is found murdered in his darkroom shortly thereafter. Inspector Anders (Walter Sittler) and his team are certain that there is a connection. The hottest clue leads them to a riding stable which was the focal point in the life of the dead girl. Anders has no idea just how close he comes to the killer…

Against the enchanting backdrop of the Swedish vacation island of Gotland, Walter Sittler plays Inspector Robert Anders, a German citizen happily married with the Swedish midwife Line (Paprika Steen). The crime series "The Inspector and the Sea" is based on novels by Swedish bestseller author Mari Jungstedt and began with two 90-minute films aired in two consecutive weeks.
