For almost a year Andreas Missler-Morell and a ZDF camera crew followed the conductor Helmuth Rilling as he travelled to Eugene in Oregon, to Santiago de Compostela and to Moscow. The result of this epic journey is a documentary that concentrates on the humanitarian as well as the musical message of this outstanding musician. During rehearsals and workshops he is happy to pass on to young directors and music students his ability to interpret Bach in close conformity to the actual text. This study of Rilling's musical talents concentrates on the Mass in B Minor.
